Partner Dudley McCarter Delivers University of Missouri Law School Commencement Speech

On Saturday May 14th, Mizzou Law celebrated the graduation of 98 students. Dudley McCarter, proud University of Missouri-Columbia Law School Alumnus (1975), delivered the commencement speech. In his speech Dudley acknowledged that, "law school is not easy, doing it in a pandemic is unbelievably hard, so I tip my hat to you, I commend you."

Dudley went on to make 3 promises to the graduating class,

"I promise you that this law school gave you the knowledge and the skills you will need to be a successful lawyer.

I promise if you utilize that knowledge and those skills you will be a successful lawyer.

I promise you that your gratitude for this law school will continue to grow after you graduate."

He wrapped up his speech with a quote from John Masefield and added his own Mizzou twist: "There are few earthly things more splendid than THIS university, The University of Missouri, the place we call Mizzou. This University stands, and it surely does shine." Congratulations to the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School graduating class of 2022!
