On Saturday May 14th, Mizzou Law celebrated the graduation of 98 students. Dudley McCarter, proud University of Missouri-Columbia Law School Alumnus (1975), delivered the commencement speech. In his speech Dudley acknowledged that, "law school is not easy, doing it in a pandemic is unbelievably hard, so I tip my hat to you, I commend you."
Dudley went on to make 3 promises to the graduating class,
"I promise you that this law school gave you the knowledge and the skills you will need to be a successful lawyer.
I promise if you utilize that knowledge and those skills you will be a successful lawyer.
I promise you that your gratitude for this law school will continue to grow after you graduate."
He wrapped up his speech with a quote from John Masefield and added his own Mizzou twist: "There are few earthly things more splendid than THIS university, The University of Missouri, the place we call Mizzou.
