Anthony R. Behr presented the Patriot Award by ESGR

Today is Veterans Day 2020. Thank you Dudley McCarter, Joe Neely and all our Veterans for their sacrifice and their service.

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense program established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers.

The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

Mr. Behr was nominated by Major Joseph T. Neely of the United States Marine Corps Reserve. After serving six and a half years on active duty, Major Neely has been in the reserve component since October 2017. Major Neely joined the USMC as a Judge Advocate after graduating from Michigan Law. His first assignment was as a criminal defense attorney and then prosecutor at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was then selected for a position at Headquarters Marine Corps in the Pentagon. He deployed twice while on active duty, first to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and later to Romania. In 2016, Major Neely was awarded the Outstanding Young Military Lawyer Award from the American Bar Association. He is currently serving as a Civil Affairs Officer at 4th Civil Affairs Group in Hialeah, FL.
