RICHARD J. BEHR
With over 28 years’ experience in State and Federal courts in the Midwest, Rich has extensive experience litigating cases in Missouri and Illinois. Rich has successfully tried over fifty (50) cases in his career. He regularly defends businesses, hospitals and professionals in complex litigation. He has many years of experience representing insurers with insurance coverage issues. Rich also represents municipalities, their board members and employees in employment-related litigation. Based on his noteworthy experience and success, Rich was recognized as a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyer and was awarded an AV Rating by Martindale-Hubbell®, which is the highest rating possible for superior legal ability and ethics. He has been a speaker for the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis and has presented seminars to hospital risk managers across the country on the “Wide World of Liability” facing hospitals and other businesses.
Rich has significant experience defending medical malpractice cases as well as representing clients on a wide spectrum of business and employment-related issues. His experience includes reviewing and preparing contracts as well as resolving contractual disputes in and out of court. He typically represents employers on a wide range of issues such as non-compete disputes, wrongful terminations and discrimination claims based on age, sex, religion, or ethnicity. He has also successfully resolved numerous construction disputes including mechanic’s liens. Rich’s extensive background also allows him to provide excellent representation to individuals who have sustained personal injury. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Illinois.
Rich attended Rockhurst College on a combination academic/athletic scholarship (’82-’84). He received his undergraduate degree with honors in Accounting from St. Louis University in 1986 and earned his J.D. from St. Louis University’s School of Law in 1989, where he was chosen to be a member of the Law Journal.
Rich is a member of several local bar associations in the greater St. Louis Metropolitan area and enjoys coaching sports for his parish, Immacolata. His favorite charity to support is “Our Little Haven” which provides early intervention services to children and families in need of a safe and healing environment.
